I was bought up in the 70's, but loved watching old black and white Hollywood films, 50's technicolour film
s with Doris Day, Jane Powell and Marilyn, listening to Dinah Washington, Frank Sinatra and Ella, loving 'Happy Days', Elvis in 'Blue Hawaii' and 'I Love Lucy' re-runs. All this set me up for loving retro and a bit of kitsch an
d being different. I had been looking for Rockabilly Retro
gifts on the web for ages like burlesque boxes that I could add my
own things to like soaps, hot-pants, candles, incense. I needed
resuscitating after seeing the prices of the ones that were around.
How much?! 
So, in the end I had to make it. Inspired by all the things I really love - Glamorous old film stars, beautiful burlesque, retro 40s and 50s with a dose of rockabilly. I made all the gift boxes and found other great people to help with stuff I could not do like sewing (yuk!).
